A Python course for our study group, with every project reviewed.
Each lesson covers one topic with an explanation, worked examples and a short knowledge check. Pass the check to unlock a small project, submit it, and a staff member reads it and replies.

How it works
Every lesson follows the same five steps. A lesson counts as complete only when you have passed its knowledge check and your project has been approved.
-
Learn
Read a short explanation with worked examples, the mistakes people often make, and links for further reading.
-
Practice
Try a few exercises, then answer the knowledge check. Passing it unlocks the lesson's project.
-
Build
Write a small program on your own computer that puts the lesson to work.
-
Submit
Share a GitHub link or upload your files, with a note on your approach, what you learned and what was hard.
-
Review
A staff member reads your work and approves it or asks for changes. Your progress updates once it is approved.
What the course covers
Stages are taken in order. Lesson counts are what is published today.
-
Python Foundations
Install Python, write and run scripts, and work with variables, types, operators, text, input and output.
-
Control Flow
Make decisions with booleans and conditionals, and repeat work with for and while loops.
-
Data Structures
Lists, tuples, dictionaries and sets: choosing the right container for your data.
-
Functions
Package logic into reusable, testable functions, and pass functions around as values.
-
Files and Error Handling
Keep data between runs with files and JSON, handle errors deliberately and validate input.
-
Object-Oriented Programming
Model things with classes and objects, then reuse and combine them with inheritance and composition.
-
Developer Fundamentals
The everyday tools of a developer: modules, packages, virtual environments, debugging, testing, Git and GitHub.
-
Applied Python
Bring everything together in a capstone: databases, data processing, APIs and automation.
